Last week we were in Wiesbaden for the Collaboration Summit, and what an experience it was! It was two days full of inspiring talks, insights and all about the latest developments within Microsoft 365. In this blog, we are happy to share 6 valuable topics with you!

The most valuable topics for Bo:

1. SharePoint Premium Document Processing (formerly Syntex).
SharePoint Premium Document Processing (formerly Syntex) makes it easy to process large volumes of documents. It recognizes patterns in unstructured documents, used a fixed format for structured documents, and processes semi-structured documents. With standard models for contracts, invoices and purchase orders, and features such as content assembly and image tagging, this tool offers many advantages.

Automatic metadata extraction create the finding, filtering and monitoring of information easier, which saves time and increases efficiency. Documents can be automatically classified for retention and confidentiality, allowing organizations better meet compliance requirements and improve data security.

2. Insider Risk Management in Purview
Insider Risk Management (IRM) helps organizations protect confidential information from internal threats, such as an employee downloading sensitive documents before leaving for a new employer. IRM links to the HR system to identify departing employees, recognizes suspicious patterns such as document adjustments and downloads, and creates risicoscores to take action if necessary.

This provides enhanced protection of sensitive information and insight into internal risico‘s. Through anonymous monitoring, privacy is maintained until a legal case is. This helps organizations op time intervene and protect sensitive data from ununwanted access and theft.

3. Data Classifiers in Purview
Data classifiers in Purview provide automated document classification for information protection, data loss prevention and retention. They use Sensitive Information Types (SITs) to recognize patterns such as BSN numbers and credit card information, Trainable Classifiers for more complex documents that cannot be identified by patterns but can be identified by layout, for example, and Exact Data Match (EDM) Classifiers for identification based on specific queries.

Thus, organizations can benefit from automatic and accurate protection of confidential information without manual labels, increasing efficiency and accuracy. This helps manage sensitive information more effectively and protect it from data breaches and accidental loss, while also helping with regulatory compliance and minimizing human error.

“Of course, Copilot was the talk of the day (no surprise!). But what was really interesting is that there was also a lot of focus on governance and compliance. It makes sense, because Copilot can uncover potentially hidden problems in your Microsoft 365 environment.

The most valuable topics for Aivy:

1. Dev Proxy – Simulate API interactions without excessive coding.
With Dev Proxy, an open source project, you can mimic API interactions, simulate errors and failures, and test throttling scenarios without writing much extra code. It provides insight into how your application responds to different API scenarios, allowing you to test effectively and detect bugs before they reach production.

2. Microsoft Graph Toolkit
The Microsoft Graph Toolkit is a set of customizable controls that simplify working with Microsoft Graph. It provides the power of Microsoft 365 experience with flexibility for customization to user needs. By using this toolkit, developers can build applications with less code while still performing complex tasks.

3. Azure functions with PnP.Powershell cmdlets
Rodrigo Pinto introduces durableAzure features using PnP.Powershell cmdlets. He illustrates patterns such as Fan-out/Fan-in, where multiple functions are executed asynchronously before the workflow continues. Using managed identities minimizes the need for managing additional credentials, improving security and simplifying management.

“Perhaps the greatest thing to see is that everyone at the Collaboration Summit was different. With all diverse backgrounds and stories, but that they were all equally excited about developments within technology and Microsoft.”
