Five years ago, Iris never thought she would work in IT. In fact, she was somewhat skeptical about it at first. She had a certain image of the IT world and didn’t know if it would suit her. Still, she decided to talk to I4-YOU and it turned out to be a bull’s-eye. From the moment we met she knew: this is the right place for me. What immediately surprised her was how broad and versatile the IT sector actually is. All kinds of different characters, backgrounds and interests come together here. Not a stereotype, but an industry where everyone can contribute in their own way. Within I4-YOU she noticed this even more strongly. The atmosphere is open, colleagues think with you and there is always room to develop yourself further. By now she has completely found herself in the combination of IT and Marketing.
Learning from colleagues and partners
What excites Iris most about her work is the collaboration, both with colleagues and external partners. For example, she works a lot with our partner Fresh, who are only too happy to share their knowledge. This knowledge not only helps her to better connect marketing activities, but also provides opportunities to spar with other marketers within the IT world. She also works a lot with colleagues like Bo, who has a lot of knowledge of our solutions and is happy to share it. That support helps Iris tremendously to better understand complex IT topics and then translate that knowledge into appealing communication. This combination of creativity and content makes her work varied and instructive.
Sharing knowledge and communities
Since working in IT, Iris has noticed how much knowledge people here share with each other. Within the Microsoft world, she sees how actively people collaborate, not only within companies but especially in communities. These communities regularly organize events and stimulate the sharing of experience, ideas and knowledge. She herself is involved in Dutch Women in Tech, a network dedicated to getting more women excited about IT. The openness and willingness to help each other further, she sees everywhere in IT.
A team where there is room for ideas
For Iris, one of the biggest pluses at I4-YOU is the team feeling. People with different backgrounds work here, but everyone is open to each other’s ideas. That makes for good discussions, surprising insights and pleasant cooperation. She experiences a lot of trust and gets the space to tackle her work in her own way. This freedom not only makes her work more fun, but also ensures that she can really do what she is good at. Her motto? Always say yes to new adventures. The best opportunities arise precisely by tackling new things and stepping outside your comfort zone. Something her IT adventure has more than proven.
